Center of Excellences (COE)

Upgradation of trades into Centres of Excellence-Broad guidelines for implementation of the Broad Based Basic Training in Plastic Processing Operator sector.
These centers provide multi skill training to meet the skill requirement of a particular sector of industry with their active involvement in all aspects of training. The training is given in three stages as given below:

Training in Basic skill areas for a period of one year.
Training in Advanced modules for next six months.
The testing & certification for the Basic skill training during first year & also for Advanced training during next six months will be conducted by NCVT.
Training in specialized modules mainly in the industry (The course curricula, duration etc are designed in consultations with the IMC/local industry. The trade testing & certification for this component is jointly done jointly by the State Government & industry.

Broad-Based Basic Training (BBBT)

Courses in that sector, Govt. ITI, Cuddalore adopt, Plastic Processing Operator sector which offer BBBT in the following modules each of 8 weeks duration (2 months).

BASIC FITTING & MEASUREMENT (PPBT-01)
BASIC ELECTRICAL, ELECTRONICS & COMPUTER SKILL (PPBT-02)
INJECTION MOULDING (PPBT-03)
COMPRESSION MOULDING (PPBT-04)
EXTRUSION MOULDING (PPBT-05)
BLOW MOULDING (PPBT-06)

For these modules trade practical is 28 hours/week and Trade theory is 4 hours/week.
Besides that the following Generic Modules are also taught (each 2 hrs/Week) throughout the year.

WORKSHOP CALCULATION AND SCIENCE (PPBT-07)
ENGINEERING DRAWING (PPBT-08)

ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Moreover, 4 hours/week are set asides for Library studies & Physical Training.

Advanced Training Module (ATM)

After completing BBBT courses during 1st year, trainees have the option to seek admission in an Advanced Training Modules of six month duration.
In PPO Sector trainees may opt any one of the following ATMs courses.

INJECTION MOULDING (PPBT-03)
EXTRUSION MOULDING (PPBT-05)
BLOW MOULDING (PPBT-06)

Specialized Training Module (STM)

The pass out trainees of BBBT & ATM have the option to undergo 6 months industrial training as company apprentices in reputed industries under Apprenticeship training Act 1961 in the following modules with handsome stipend.
