Government Industrial Training Institute, Cuddalore is spread across about 24 Acres. This institution was first started at Rental Building with 6 Trades of 200 seats. Later in 1959 a fulfilled Infrastructure building was opened by Director of Industries Mr.R.K. Palaniappan, I.A.S., and by Joint Director Mr.T.R. Krishnaswamy. The institution currently offers 8 trades and the present student strength is 910. Students of both genders are admitted for training.

                                         

                                       Purpose and Aim of ITI

The Purpose of ITI Cuddalore is to provide Industrial Training to the students who complete the educational qualification of 8th, 10th and 12th, to enable them to get job opportunity in government and private sectors. Further, they are prepared for self employment also to earn for their life.

                                             

                                        Location and landmark

Government ITI Cuddalore is situated on the main road between Cuddalore and Nellikuppam in Semmandalam area near District Employment Office.

                                       SKILL AWARDS 

All India Trade Test is conducted by DGET during the month of July every year. The topper of the institution gets the chance of appearing for the State Level Skill competition test the comprising fellow the toppers from all other institutions in the state. The Winner of the State level skill test appears for the All India level skill test competing with other toppers from others states. State level skill test winner gets a cash prize Rs.5000 and the National level skill test winner gets a cash award of Rs.10000. 
In the year of 2000-2001 our trainee Mr. T.Sivakumar, Welder Trade attained the First Place in All India Skill Competition test held in New Delhi.

                                SPORTS & GAMES

Students are consistently encouraged and highly supported to enthusiastically involve themselves in various sporting events. Institution has wonderful infrastructure to provide significant practicing facilities .

                         Regional Sports & State level Sports


Our Institution has the reputation of good in sports especially in Volley ball. Being Champions for 8 times in a row at regional level, Our students have proven their authority in volleyball. The institution has also won the volleyball Championship in 2008 and 2011 at the national level sports meet

The institution has also won the championship in volleyball in 2008 and 2011 at the State level sports meet. 

National Social Service :(NSS) 

Our Institution has 1 unit (100 members) of NSS active volunteers. Out of 100 more than 50 volunteers actively engaged themselves in various special camps at nearby villages in cuddalore District. 

Some of the NSS activities are :

A nearby village was selected and permission was obtained from the president of the village to carry out various cleaning works and awareness programmes. Our trainees stayed at the selected village for 7 days and did the needful upon the request of the inhabitants at the village

Polio drops programme was conducted with the enthusiastic participation of our NSS cadres at Thiruvanthipuram area for 3 days from 19.2.2012 to 21.2.2012. More than one thousand children were benefited. 

Blood donation of our NSS volunteers to the District Head Quarters Government Hospital is a highlight of the NSS programme. Blood donation camp was organized at the Institution on 31.10.2011. In that 50 NSS volunteers donated Blood to Tamil Nadu State AIDS control society and State Blood Bank Council.

                                      DAILY ASSEMBLY


Assembly is conducted every day for both Ist and IInd shifts separately thereby instilling discipline and punctuality among the trainees. The assembly starts with “TAMIL THAI VAAZHTHU” followed by the recitation of “THIRUKKURAL”. Finally the Principal or Training officer addresses the gathering

7. Examination fees Rs.150 Payable before examination & before the due date announced.

Stipend was given to the trainees every month as per the directions given by Government of Tamil Nadu.

                       Farmer Stipend Details

Stipend is given to the children of Farmers as per the directions given by the Government of Tamil Nadu.
*Farmer stipend yearly: 1500/- per year (subject to Government Orders)
